This kinda thing can't help but keep fuel prices down.

That kind of depends on the country. Many countries continue to move away from thermal coal use. My guess is power pruduction from renewables will outpace the growth of electric vehicles in most forward looking countries. Coal power is getting comparatively more expensive to produce than some of the alternatives.
