Tilex on EPDM roof

Have some black streaks on roof(looks like the streaks are where the roof joists are) and wanted to see if I could spray Tilex or a something like that on the streaks. Spic and span is what I use on the roof but that will not cut into the black streaks very well. tks

  • It's best to follow the instructions in the manual that came with your roof. I'm not sure why you need to have it sparkling white as it won't stay that way. Avoid cleaners with petroleum distillates. If you keep your RV waxed, the black streaks come off with soap and water. Meguires cleaner wax is an excellent choice.

I have had very good luck with the camco roof cleaner. You really don't need to make it pure white.
  • In my opinion, TILEX is probably too mild. I've used a weak bleach solution for 17 years and it hasn't hurt a thing.

Just be prepared to rinse any areas of the sidewalls well, where over wash may have drained.

  • Or how about Krud Kutter which has the added bonus of being a multi- purpose degreaser/cleaner.
