Oh quit whining. Y'all get off cheap. See my non US home where gas is over $9gal & registration for my 04 Toyota Yaris is over $500.00.
Keep in mind many in this country are really unaware about the larger world or perhaps are just not interested. I was blown away by the cost of things in Europe in the mid 70's when stationed in Rota, Spain.
At $9 a gallon there would be no RV industry as we know it today in the USA. As registration fees double and redouble state by state in the coming years registration fees will appear on our radars as we fully embrace the model of governments of Europe in public spending. :(
Very true. Even worse most are unaware of what is outside of their local TV coverage area never mind outside of their state let alone country, unless of course it is something that does involve the US. A minute or two of 'international news' will always involve the US.
I always smile when on a TV game show there is a question on Canada, like maybe something as basic as what is the capital city? More often than not you get blank faces.
Before grumbling too much about costs take a look at the greater world. Imagine what operating our monster RVs elsewhere would be. We would not have anywhere to camp in Europe where a 30'er is considered huge, never mind pay the $8-$10gal fuel.
