Funny you should mention 'property' taxes - this thread is about the cost of vehicle tag renewals and I am a full-timer now. In TN you do not pay personal or individual property taxes on ANY vehicles, regardless of weight or anything else. But as for real property, even when I owned over 60 ACRES my entire property tax bill was under $2000 a year, and that included a house and barns. TN also has NO state income tax, anywhere, except for on income from interest or dividends (and even that has a threshold level).
But where they do get EVERYBODY is sales tax, which approached 10% in some areas. In my 'home' county (where I do still own property) the sales tax is 9.25%. Pretty rough day to day, but there are caps & exceptions for vehicles - cars, boats, or even a motorhome. Good deal.
