Tiny houses.

Wife and I have been watching Tiny House Hunters on HGTV. Just don't get the tiny house movement. For what some of these are going for you could buy an awesone RV. JMHO

  • My 20 year old granddaughter loves the idea.

She understand that they are not RVs and not mobile.

She hopes to get one, and sell it after she makes her fortune and buy a Class A.

That way she will never get addicted to 'space' and never be stuck with utility and tax costs of a 'real house'.

Today, we are near the end of 2 1/2 weeks dental work in Mexico, sitting in a RGV snowbird RV park. Plenty of full sized mobile homes (which aint' mobile) and park models in the place along with 5ers and TTs which will never be pulled on another trip. And a scattering of newer Tiny Homes.

Some folks see the Tiny Homes as better designed/ built for permanent residences than park models or regular RVs.

No I don't see the attraction. But I'm an old sailor who still wants to visit new ports before age makes that impossible.
  • x3 wife and I have had the same thoughts. could get a much more roomier and comfortable rv. also, I would not like hauling some of those "tiny homes" in any kind of cross wind.
  • I was wondering that same thing, you have to crawl into bed and hope you don't hit your head...I like my 2006 Winn Adventurer, can close off the bedroom for when we need our own "space"
  • It is my understanding that they will be transported once to a permanent site and set up with power, water sewer. On wheels only so that it does not qualify as a permanent structure and subject to building codes and taxes.

X1, totally agree!!! My major concern is that you have people constructing a structure for RVing/traveling down the road at 55mph who may or may not have the necessary skills to build a safe rig to travel down the road.

And the dang things are NOT mobile

I could convert garage and have more room
