The blown tire looked just like the one in front of it before the blowout. All of them were at the proper pressure, well under the max load and newer than yours. I was very lucky in that there was no damage aside from severing the brake wires which was an easy fix. Most folks aren't that lucky often incurring several thousands dollars in damage from a blowout.
After changing the blowout on the shoulder of Interstate 10 (yeah that was a lot of fun), :E I replaced them all with a set of Maxxis' the next day... and that was the end of my tire problems. :C
