If you have TST cap sensors like I do, I took the rotating security caps off as soon as I got the system, making the sensors smaller and lighter with no tool needed to install or remove them. They're also less noticeable
Dutch, How did you remove the rotating caps? I have the TST TM-507 and they drove me nuts trying to get the thing back on with that goofy wrench without loosing all the air I just put it. I was even thinking of super gluing the caps so they would not rotate. But wasn't real keen on that idea.
There are 3 small screws on each 507 sensor that you take out to remove the rotating security cap before unscrewing the sensor cap to replace the battery. I removed the screws and caps and didn't put them back on. Simple as that. The 507 sensors are a little smaller than the previous 510 sensors with the non-removable caps, and even smaller without the security caps.
The security caps don't protect much anyway, since anyone wanting to steal a sensor for some reason only needs to squeeze the cap a bit with a pair of pliers to remove it without the supplied tool. Without the security caps, the smaller sensors don't look a lot different than some of the aftermarket valve caps. I've had TST sensors on 10 tires since 2008 and haven't lost one yet.
