Where are you guys finding tire shops that have calibrated gauges? Every place I have ever been to Chain, independent, clean, filthy, trustworthy, or disreputable, use what ever gauge the tech has in his pocket,or the big stick gauge on the compressor hose.
Y,all are either really gullible or, live in much more exclusive zip code than I.
I have never cared one way or the other how accurate a tire shop is, I tell them what tire pressure I want, and go from there. I have a couple air compressors at home, and adjust there if needed. . As said my gauge it accurate enough for me ,has been for years now.
IMO it was not a bad suggestion to the OP to compare with a tire shop, or his TPMS on truck or trailer. Granted the OP's two gauges are 12 psi different , thats too much, he needs to get some accuracy within 2-3 psi.
What suggestions do you have for the OP ? I have no idea how accurate my gauge is, I have relied on comparison for that ,and feel its good enough for me. Never saw the need to go out ,and spend $50-60 on one .
My question is to someone that invested a bunch of money in a tire gauge is there a way to actually know its accurate, or you have trusted the fact you shelled out a bunch money ,and its accurate . Just curious.
