Tire Rotation

While I don't want to TOTALLY dismiss the thought of rotation, trailer tires live an incredibly similar life, while on a car/truck tires live very different lives.

Rear tires do the acceleration, and front tires do the steering...

Front and rear may carry very different weights, and at braking time, there's more opportunity for different wear and tear.

Conversely, the on the trailer the weights are the same, no one's accelerating, no one's steering and the braking is more similar.

Now I know why I've never rotated my trailer tires...

Exactly!! I want to get some ground under the spare,move the molecules around if you will,, So i thought left front for the spare and everyone else moves over to the passenger side, and the passenger side rear gets to be the spare,, Asked the tires and they don't really have an issue with that..
Just thought I would see what the norm is.. no steer no drive no priority.

I do mine at the beginning of the 4th year. I scattered a 4 year old Marathon all over the highway. so I'm not waiting any more.

I rotate mine every spring. I have 2 spares so I work them into the mix for a longer lasting setup.

I don't have too many miles on the tires but all the dirt road travel/braking is wearing them out pretty quick.

Keep proper air and don't wast your time with rotating.

I don't think the rotation pattern is all that important. None of the tires drive or steer the trailer. I do rotate my TT tires once a year for the same reasons others have posted about the uneven weight they carry and also tire flexing and scuffing differences of tandem axils while making tight turns.

Maybe it makes no difference, but all I can say is in 19 years, thousands of miles of travel, and three sets of ST trailer tires I have not had a single blowout.

I don't worry about rotating them. they aren't going to be on there that long
