A couple of thoughts:
Repairs void the basic tire manufacturer's warranties. If there is a road hazard warranty, a repair might be covered there. However, it is common for problems not associated with a puncture to be warrantied in spite of the repair. It is also common for tires to get "special dispensation". So be careful saying "I got a warranty on X". You just might have gotten a "one time" special.
