If you have room I'd jump up to a 15" wheel and get a higher weight rating, then go with Maxxis, not sure if they make a 14" tire.
edit: change likely only means 3-5% reduction in braking performance, perhaps not a big deal at all. Another consideration might be availability when in more remote areas. And of course expense of all new wheels as well.
