Ralph, I completely agree about people wandering into the shoulder and just how much ”stuff” you can find there. I spent many years as an emergency roadside assistance provider and changed many flat tires for motorist on the side of interstate 80 as well as other highways. After sending the customer on their way, I would often take a minute as I gathered up my tools and look around on the ground at the assortment of nails, screws, metal brackets from God knows what, pieces of exhaust system, and even the occasional broken cell phone.
