Gee, I guess my "agenda" of wanting people to safe on the highway makes me some kind of freak.... fortunately I can live with that.
"In fact the NTSB's "most wanted safety improvements" have to do with things like getting wireless devices out of auto's, stricter seatbelt use, and getting drunk drivers off of the road. In essence, driver distraction and poor drivers cause accidents, not speed."
I agree that the above concerns are crucial to highway safety, I think using any electronic device while driving should be illegal across the nation not just in select jurisdictions. Getting drunks off the road (I did that recently), starts with actually sentencing the repeat offenders to prison instead of the standard slap on the wrist that most receive. Folks that don't wear seat belts are idiots. People that drive the speed limit are not.
If you are speeding you are a poor driver, sorry if that fact offends but it doesn't stop being true. See what a couple of speeding tickets do for your insurance costs and who knows more about the cost of bad driving than the insurance companies? :R.
You do not get to pick and choose which laws to obey, it just does not work that way. Do you pass on hills, blind curves and across double yellow lines? Probably (hopefully), not because it is dangerous and illegal, speeding is exactly the same. If you cannot obey the law your driving privileges can and should be revoked, it is just that simple.
Oh well enough nonsense for now, think I will hit the road and drive up to the Superstition Mountains, at or under the posted speed limit enjoying the scenery and some pretty decent mileage.... works for me. :C
