You did not say what you have, TT 5ver, or motorhome. Unless you are towing all of the time, Maxxis are your best choice for a TT or 5ver. For a Class B or C, I would suggest Michelin and Goodyear for a Class A.
Title of thread was "Tires for 5th wheel"....
To the OP,
Some years back, I owned a 36' Coachmen with 3 slides that had a GVW of 14,500#. 6,000# axles. I went with the Michelin XPS RIBS....an LT E rated tire that worked great on the 5er...I owned the unit for 2 years, bought new, and a very good friend of mine purchased the Coachmen and towed it all over the US for years, to the point I recommend he change the RIBS due to how old they were, (6 yrs at the time, I think), he never had an issue.
..Don't think Carlisle has "proven" itself with a new tire, I wouldn't buy them, but that's just me.....
As Chris stated:
"So if she can only afford a poly carcass LT like the trailer had OEM then the Firestone Transforce HT is a good choice. If she truly wants to put tire problems behind her, then the Bridgestone Duravis R250 steel ply carcass is an excellent choice. If cost is not a big issue then the Michelin XPS RIB is the way to go. "
