It has to do with several things, Size or tire and design of vehicle mostly.
I mean it is like this.. On the car I used to have all the wires were in areas well protected against road damage.. If a tire blew the odds of it tearing up wiring or plumbing were basically ZERO a said wires were INSIDE the frame rails.
On an RV you can look up inside the wheel well and see wires They hang right out in the open just asking to be tore all to.... you know.
Page 2: I sometimes tell the story of two RVers with Pressure Pro tire monitoring systems. I got mine, installed it, when the thing alarmed (Left front Towed tire) I added air, several times over the weekend, and on Monday went to the tire store (After adding yet more air) where they found I'd been screwed, removed said screw, put in a proper patch total cost a few cents worth of gasoline. (Perhaps as much as a dollar's worth) Tire repair covered under warranty.
The other person was too busy to install his. So it "Tossed" it in the basement for install later.. Got about 15 miles and people were honking and pointing and not only was the tire tore all to glory. but there was over 2,000 in secondary body damage as well.
With Dual rear tires, many drive quite some distance before they figure out they have a flat.
