Just wondering...why do motorhome, trailer, 5th wheel tires blow apart so bad that they cause damage to the rv?? I've had many flats on my cars and vans over the last 43 years but never had one come apart...just pop a small hole in sidewall is the worst that ever happened. Higher pressure in rv tires the cause maybe?
If you read the original question it only asks why so much damage when a tire blows on a RV no where does it ask why tires blow.
To answer that original question IMHO.
1. As has been stated higher pressure.
2. More material in a RV tire.
3. Wheel well and body construction. On most cars the wheel well is steel on RV's there are many that are just fiberglass or lightweight metal. The sides of the most RV's can not take the abuse of most cars.
