TKR--Tomorrows the day!!!

I go in tomorrow morning at 8:30 for my total knee replacement. I am sooo nervous. I feel that there was a lot more things required of the patient this time than the last time when I got my right knee done. Had to start disinfecting 3 days before instead of the morning of. Had to have pre-op clearance from my primary after I already had the pre-op. Seems all month there were appointments for this and that.

Well better get off and stop gabbing, another one of my nervous habits.

All you guys that have had this operation have been moral support for me and I appreciate it.

  • Two days from now the joint pain will be gone and the soft tissue pain from them doing their job will be mild in comparison.

By Wednesday's late afternoon walk, you'll want to go home and enjoy planning a trip in August or September.

By now the pain should be gone and you'll be dreading the PT. Please embrace it with all your being and get back on the road.

I told my surgeon that I wanted to kiss him by the time my two week appointment rolled around.

I'm hoping that now that I have my allergies under control and the back clinic I'm going to tomorrow is supposed to help my walking that I will be able to hike this fall with the Grandkids in Canyonlands NP. and Arches.

No luck needed, just enjoy the removal of the pain. You'll do fine.

Post us by Wednesday with all the great news.
  • Good Luck. My wife had her ight knee done on the 17th of June. She came home from rehab on last Friday. Also she is climbing the stairs well here in our condo. Goes tomorrow to the surgeon for follow up appointment. I think he will remove the staples.
  • Had my TKR three years ago, everything turned out fine. Had ice packs for a few days to help with the swelling, but otherwise things went well. Don't remember having much pain if any. Make sure you do the exercises and you'll be in great shape shortly, and be nice to the nurses too!
  • My mom had both of her knees replaced as well as a hip, it worked out great for her. All I can say is don't rush it.

    God Bless
