I was a licensed professional and I worked with orthopedic MD's for many years and the one thing that stood out above all others was;
Those that did the physical therapy both at the therapists and at home fared very well. I saw many people come in and just do the therapy in the office. Those people did not do as well.
Remember you are free to choose a therapist and if the one you are dealing with is not working with you CHANGE THERAPISTS. My example is as follows. My wife has spinal cord injury and the first 2 therapists we went to were only interested in stopping further deterioration. They were recommended by her surgeon. That was not acceptable to us so we started our search for a better therapist. After trying out 4 - 5 others we found a therapist who was familiar with m wife's particular problem. She treated the problem aggressively and my wife actually gained ground. The surgeon is important to get you started in the right direction the therapist can enhance the MD's work or screw it up. BE VIGILANT
Most that did the therapy and had a good therapist recovered to where they were actually more physically able to do things than they were before the surgery. So if you were able to do it before you should be able after recovery to do it better. Recovery should be complete by next April - May.
You will do fantastic.
