i can see the need for those with smaller (or fewer) holding tanks. We have grey tanks on our 5er and when not connected to sewer hookup, we have an add-on valve that allows us to open both tanks and mix.
For those times when even that doesn't work out, a slow grey-water drip never hurt anybody ;-)
Do not do it in Montana! Such an action IS illegal, and if somebody turns you in (very likely), it can be expensive. It doesn't matter if you are on state or Federal land.
People in this state have been pulled over and ticketed for allowing their fresh water tank to drain while driving on the highway.
It pays to know the laws for the state where you are camping!
