For quite a while, I've had a hairline crack about 6" from the valve on one of my gray water pipes. Drip drip drip...never really been an issue. I wrapped some sealing tape around it a few months back, which all but solved the problem. One day, when I get time, I'll cut it out and fix it...maybe.
Really depends on the scenario. If there is NO evidence of a drip/leak, it never happened. However if the site is wet with grey water. We have a problem.
