I'll be honest, I didn't read more than a couple of posts in this thread. But, if you're considering a large tote and have a pickup truck, consider a sewer bladder instead.
See post on it:
https://www.facebook.com/LearnToRV/posts/1302548753145875At the end of the day, my bladder runs in the ballpark of 100 lbs. It sits in my truck bed. I use a macerator pump to pump "stuff" up into it and then a 3" sewer hose at the dump station.
When we are on water + electric sites w/o sewer, we don't change an iota of our routine. We still run the washer/dryer, we still take non-navy showers, and we still let the kids wash dishes. About daily, I'll make a run to the dump in order to empty 2 of my gray tanks. Weekly I empty one of my black tanks and every other week I'll empty the other.
In back to back stays, we haven't had sewer since July 2nd save for an overnight and we fulltime. We'll continue to not have sewer for 3 more weeks.
Riding in the truck bed means that I can strap it down and drive miles down the road to the nearest dump station. I haven't yet, but the option is there.
