Toad Braking Systems

Airforce one is the only way to go - much smoother stops and very easy to get going with it over my old Brake Buddy

I use RVI2 easy set up works great.

BlueOx Patriot works for me.

I used a Brake Buddy for over 10 years and loved it.

AirForceOne made by SMI is the best, costs a little more but it works off your airbrake system of your DP. I'm towing with SMI's StayInPlay for my Class C, it works on hydraulic brake systems. Both systems are wlll made and don't mess up the interior of your toad (box on the floor, something mounted inside the passenger compartment, etc).

the Ready Brake system is, IMO, the best. Simple, mechanical, trouble and worry free, and permanently installed.

To add to the confusion... I've only used the US Gear Unified brake system. Installed it on three different toads, and two motor homes. Once installed, there is no other item to connect or disconnect from the toad. No electrical lines, no air hoses, no nothing. Even better, most motor homes are already pre-wired for this system with an empty connector under the dash and connected at the other end to the 7-pin connector.

In addition it uses a small vacuum pump to provide vacuum for the toad's power brakes....ever tried to use power brakes on your car without the engine running?? Just think how much force is required for all those other braking systems that doesn't use the toad's power brakes.

that is an often cited "problem" with the brake buddy system, primarily given by someone with no actual experience with their use. In 10 years of use I have not noticed any issue.
