toilet paper
Is it really necessary to use camping word toilet paper or can any toilet paper that says septic safe be used.

No reason to buy the expensive RV TP Unless you are just trying to get rid of your money faster. :) - I don't put mine in the toilet..I save it in a paper bag then use it for starting fires. It gives them a nice aroma..
B.O. - Some of the reasoning for using easier dissolved paper is traceable to the forced indtorcution of low waater use toilets. They clog up with just hint of using more than one square of paper. Back when they started it one of the guys, in the officce put a sticier on the stalls "be paper conscious use both sides."
- We do not put paper in the black tank, partly because the trailer is used but not moved and had a couple of issues with clogs in the dump line, from someone (not me) putting big wads of TP down with not much water.
We use normal to generous amounts, fold it over neatly & wrap if necessary. Put it in the small bathroom trash can lined with a Walmart bag, which is emptied daily. coolmom42 wrote:

B.O.- LOL it don't matter if you would believe my stepfather would believed you only needed 2 squares of TP for any job. YES HE DID TAKE IT OUT OF THE BATHROOM AND WOULD HAND OUT THE 2 SQUARES AS NEEDED..
- We use whatever I bought the last time on sale. Never had an issue. Last time was Angel Soft, before that Cottonelle and before that Kirkland from Costco. We use plenty of water and don't sweat it.
PP I knew a family growing up who put all paper in wastebasket. Ewww! - What's toilet paper? (Figured the question was as germane as the current answers).
