toilet

i am new to this site hello all. hope someone can help me with is . i have put 3 new flush seeles in my toilet the last a little while dont understand what is happening the start leaking again the bowl stops holding water. i have put plumbers grease on it and that doesnt last eather. can anyone help.
  • Is it possible that there's a lip or sharp edge damaging the seals?
Any obvious damage to the old ones?
  • 2 suggestions. First, open the flush valve all the way and rotate a toilet bowl brush thoroughly in the opening. If that doesn't work, the next time the ball valve is dry, pour a couple ounces of vegetable oil in and let it sit for several hours.

    Facepalm....
  • Most of the problems are debris in the seal and not the seal it self.
Thetford makes a tool called "bent screw driver" to clean it.
Cause of debris is sometimes linked to miss use. Too much toilet paper!
    Make and model of toilet?
  • i have replaced that seal 3 times and it is leaking again. the utube video was a great help and the instructions that came with the seals iwas hoping some one would have a fix for it.
