If the states and government held contractor accountable for there work instead of the system we have with no accountability. When the same sections of roads are repair almost yearly because they're start falling apart in months. The use of salt soaked ground up cement they reuse up here the north that just eats the re-rod up in months. Sections of asphalt that crumbles or sinks from improper mixture that was sent out.
Toll roads are not any better than what we have now. The Mackinac Bridge has a toll and has been under constant repairs and lane restrictions for years! Drive the PA, OH, IN, & IL turnpikes with all the constant construction and lane restriction.
The cure is proper oversight of the repairs, constructions and a warranty for our roads. With fines and job lose for those who want to cut corners or look the other way! Spend our tax money wisely not like a bunch of fools.
