I would like to have a tongue jack block that is light, strong (2000# TW), and at least 10" tall. I need the height so that I can raise my tongue/coupler pretty high to make it easier to "unload" my weight distribution bars on my Blue Ox BXW2000 Weight Distribution Hitch. I know I can stack the yellow blocks, and this is probably the less costly approach. It would be nice to have a single dedicated unit that I can use at home when stored and at campground.I have made one of wood (10" tall) but it was much heavier than the yellow plastic ones even stacked to reach 10" tall. I can always make another one out of wood if it appears that this may be the best solution.Thoughts, suggestions, etc?Thanks!

Not quite 10", but there's this Valterra one. If going tall, the wider you can make the base, the more stable it will be. I don't think you can buy ones with a wider base though.

Also found this one for $25 by Andersen hitches, 8" tall and 2000# rated.......

Instead of a solid wood block how about 2x12x12 You need six. the size I gave will need to be adjusted a bit
NOTE teh 12 inch length will need to be adjusted
The top i a full piece (12 x 12 showing
Under it are two pieces 12x12 and 2 12 by 9 (the top piece lies ATOP the 4 sides two sides need to be short enough to go between teh end pieces)
The bottom piece is 9x9 3" screws hold it all together. At least 3 per edge/end of piece of lumber

Lighter than a solid box by half or more but Well. that box should support about half a ton no problem (I'm guessing based on somethign I built like it)

If you were referring to me dragging out the driveway, I'm hoping the flat plate on the tongue jack will act as a skid plate if it ever actually drags. I had a 6x6x10' cargo trailer with an A frame front and a center tongue jack that would drag and sometimes slam on the blacktop leaving my gravel drive. I replaced the A frame jack with a side fold up one with a wheel to solve that. Last summer, I had my drive smoothed down some and a bit of its hump lowered. I go out slow with the TT trying to angle the trailer to prevent the drain pipe from dragging. I'm still seriously considering flipping my axle to gain plenty of clearance.

Back to the OP,
Have you seen the flip down foot extensions for tongue jacks? Not sure how tall they are but they drop down when lowering the jack and fold up when raising it, automatically using lever action. Might not get all the hight you desire but would cut down significantly on blocking needed.
