These topics are confusing so hopefully I can get some feedback from the people that know what we're getting into. I know we want both a bedliner and a Tonneau cover that locks. We hear that spray on bedliners crumble over time but wasn't sure if it would apply that much to our situation where we will have a cover. I've been looking at the bedrug for the bedliner as well but didn't know how much of impact it will have with the 5th wheel hitch. We like the Re-Trax and the roller concept but had concerns about the hitch again. I was hoping someone had feedback as far as a combo package that would be ideal for us. We have a 2014 Silverado 3500 Dually. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you have a 5th wheel, you'll need a tonneau cover that not only locks, but is not too difficult to remove. Not sure how much the 5er hitch protrudes above the truck bed, but if it doesn't, you might consider an Undercover. We've had one of those since we've had our truck (which is now 7 years old) and have been pretty pleased with it. Be careful with the fit when it's installed, though - ours has rubbed a bare spot on one side of the truck bed. Locks seem to work well. It's relatively lightweight, I think about 30-40 lbs for the cover; the two of us were able to take it off without a lot of hassle.

We have a Rol Bak G2 hard locking bed cover. No drill install and pretty easily removable, but very heavy. Haven't had any problems yet but have been told on this forum when making sharp turns on uneven ground, the rails could be hit. We have an airhitch that sits just below the cover with a few inches to spare.Our auxillary fuel tank fits below the canister of the bed cover. Also have a tool box between the aux tank and the hitch. Did a lot of research to find what will work for us full timing next year. Sorry, no help on the bedliner.Safe travels

Have a 'drop in' plastic bed liner that came with truck for past 7years. 5th hitch is mounted on top of it, and it has worked wonderfully for 25K+ miles of towing.Tonneau for 7 yrs was a factory Mopar fabric roll up cover. It was replaced this spring with an Extang Trifecta since the canvas was shrinking and it was getting hard to fasten to the railsMy configuration doesn't lock at either tonneau or tailgate, but that has not been a problem either at home or on the roadAnother possible configuration for you to considerJMHO

Every truck I buy get a spray in bed liner first thing, my new truck is no exception. I would like a Retrax Pro cover if I wasn't worried about it getting into my pin box.

LineX premium with UV protection will look as good 5 years later as the day you drove away from the dealer. Mine is 2 years old with a LOT of heavy bed hauling of gravel, sand and mulch with only one dime size spot that shows any wear.

I have a Line-x and a G2 Bakflip, absolutely no complaints but I have to say the G2 Rol Bak that Nutinelse2do has is a pretty sweet set up.

X3, Line-X will last forever. I just use an old rubber bed mat from my old Tundra trimmed to fit. For the Tonneau, I've got the XTang hard bi-fold model that I really like. Easy to take of in about 15 seconds. It locks via the tailgate; you have to open the tailgate to unlatch it from underneath.

A good spray in bed liner is not going to crumble. Mine looks much like grampscamper above, except I have a Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit roll type cover. Just make sure your hitch handle does not stick up above your hitch rails.
The Bedrug would not be your best bet with a 5er. It is a padded liner and would need to be cut out around the hitch. I had one on a previous truck. Nice. But I did not have a 5er at the time and I had a hard one piece tonneau cover.

I drive a Dodge 3500 Quad Cab with short bed (6.5 feet). I also have the Line-X spray in and like it very much. On top of that I have a Bak-Flip trifold cover. It does not interfere with the sliding hitch or pinbox so I don't have to remove it when towing the 5th wheel. In fact, it's kind of handy that when you fold it back to it last section it still covers the milk crates I keep up at the front of the bed to hold stuff like leveling blocks, air pump, jug of oil, or whatever.

X3 on Linex. I've had Rhinoliner before and also been happy with that.

I have a Tonnopro vinyl tri-fold. It's very light and easy to take on/off which I have to do when pulling due to clearance height. I don't find that to be much of a hassle and love the tonno. As mentioned above, if you lock the tailgate it's "locked". If you want more security, the also make an aluminum one that's a little heavier.

I have the Truxedo Lo Pro QT. Easy to roll up and remove. My truck came with the factory sprayed liner but have used Line-X before with no issues.
