We have a 34' trailer and a 19.5' trailer. We have carried plenty of "extra" items in the past but never really "needed" most of the extras. Since we want to boondock and we can't get the big trailer back to where we want to go, the small trailer is what we have to work with. Having many years of experience doing this, "minimalist" is the way to go for us. I don't like having to "work" when it gets time to setup. I can be totally setup in about 30 minutes, if I need to do the awning, chairs, exterior shower, etc. It probably takes about 45 minutes to put it all away.
There is no doubt that if we were "full timers" we would need the larger trailer and more stuff, but all that would do is limit where we can go. Besides, the small trailer carries more water, gasoline, LP, and an extra quad.
