Funnycamper, I had bits of the limestone casing that used to cover the great pyramid and a piece of the Lorelei and a chunk of the Berlin Wall. I had a rock from Cape Canaveral, several worthless garnets I had mined in North Carolina that were not gem quality, unusually beautiful quartz from the Black Hills, interesting rocks from places I had seen, and one from my old backyard, all neatly bagged and labeled. I hadn't just been to these places, I collected completely useless parts of them, like other people collect souvenir spoons or hat pins. I got rid of them, but I haven't cured my obsession. I will start picking up more as soon as I see an interesting one.
