Back in 1970 with our 21' Layton and a Lincoln to tow I put my whole toolbox in the trunk. I got to Council Bluffs, Iowa and found my turn signals and brake lights were not working. I tracked it down to a shorted wire in the trailer connector that had blown my turn signal switch. The police escorted me to the Lincoln dealer and they could not repair it until the next day. I asked if I could do it in their lot and they agreed but said I would need a steering wheel puller. I had one along in my tool box. It took about 1.5 hr and probably cost as much as having the mechanic do the job because my wife & 2 children went shopping while I worked. I don't know why I threw the steering wheel puller in the tool box but was sure glad I had it along.
