Get the vent covers. If you're mechanically inclined and you are okay with ladders, buy them somewhere else and install yourself. If you're not handy, and or don't do ladders, just pay up and be done with it. In my opinion, someone who says they don't have vent covers and don't need them doesn't know what they're missing...
