Slide toppers is a factory option on most trailers, but I guess if you wonder what you are missing, you are not listening
Lot of obvious reasons for both, but sure you can get by without them, but its sure nice to leave the vents open during a summer rain storm, nice to able to just bring in the slides without worrying about bring in whatever has fallen on the slide outs
