After spending one miserable steamy night in the rain at the racetrack in our Class C (no genny use after 10 PM), I bought and installed vent covers. Easy-peasy; and about $37 or so on Amazon. I installed them on our 5er a decade later.

Re toppers: the 5er didn't have one and I was alright with that. As a light sleeper, I was wary that any flapping would keep me awake at night.
