I would think its the other way around with the Maxxair brackets being the better moustrap that do not disturb the roof or sealant at all?"
Much better attachment with the FantasticVent! Reason? You are using the existing screw hole location. I could have simply removed the screw and ran a screw with sealant on it to attach bracket but I wanted the best installation possible is I went the extra mile. It's a no brainer with zero measuring/drilling involved
I have used the MaxxAir and the installation is not as easy, really not into drilling holes thru the curb of the fan. Also the flexing going down the road could cause the bracket screws to come loose.
Now you are making it an installation problem or issue, really.
There are no screws involved with MaxxAir , its a bolt washer, and nut installation, nothing is going to come loose. Know your facts before posting .
Its a one time deal here, yes you have to drill holes in a non invasive place ,no disturbing sealant ,screws in the roof etc. I think the biggest deal is ,if your are going to take out existing screws, you better well make sure to get it sealed back up. I am sure that is not that big of deal, but its a step for sure to make sure of no leaks.
Bottom line, you made it about airflow, installation , screws coming loose etc. When others have now reported otherwise. Don't see the need for that, unless it really is some proven facts, which it is not. The screws coming loose, being the latest fallacy.
