I have owned BOTH the difference is significant! Simply put why add another screen???
What part of 5% is invading you, and what part of no screws on the installation of the MaxxAir did you miss.
What are you talking about with the screen ,there is NO screen on the MaxxAir cover for the fantastic fan, there are screens on the regular covers for the screw up vents, and again what does the screen have to do with airflow .You know why they put screen on a screen door, I am just wondering if you know.
The screen, give it some thought, those vent covers do have vents in them, sure they are slanted down, still won't prevent debris from swirling around ,and getting thru the vents, and then its going to be laying on top of the inside screen .
I hope you do know, it does depend on wind direction ,temperature outside, a lot can have to do with airflow
