The bar type are fairly accurate and will hold their calibration for a lifetime of casual use. The click type is much easier to use, particularly on lug nuts because of the difficulty to view the scale.
Just get the Harbor Freight tool, it can be ordered and delivered to your door. Check its calibration by connecting it to a bar type and see if it clicks when the setting is reached.
