Looks to me like it IS his company that he is dealing with.
If not, your company won't help for free unless you have full coverage and they have something to lose in the deal.
Then......if the assumption is that it is a total loss, the insurance company will end up owning it in the end and I think that them having at least a copy of the title is a perfectly reasonable request; if for no other reason than to see that you are in fact the legal owner.
What is your problem with that, really ??
