Would you buy a vehicle from a private seller, without seeing the title for it? Neither is your insurance company going to do that.
You are giving him a copy of the title you hold, and they can't do anything with it, unless you have signed the title over to them. The title still has your name on it, and unless they forge it, the truck is still yours until you sign over the title.
Ask him at what point you will get your check and what is the final process for you signing over the title to them. OR get your agent to help explain the process.
