If it is YOUR insurance company you've been dealing with (which it seems it is), then they would already know whether or not you have a lien on it. At least my insurance company asks me who the lien holder is on any vehicles or trailer I have ever insured.
I wouldn't have a problem providing a copy of the title, to show there is no lien. Or, if there is a lien, just tell 'em who the lien holder is. You wouldn't have the title. You could also just show it to him, and if he wanted to make a copy, ok.. but not sign it over til you are in agreement on the settlement.
For whoever mentioned that if they had a copy of title, they could figure the tax, and then figure how much you paid for it, that matters not. What you paid for the vehicle or trailer has no bearing on the replacement cost or what the settlement should be. None whatsoever.
I, for one, would like to know what insurance company you have and why they appear to be such a butthead about the settlement. Or, are they offering fair value, and you're holding out for more? Is this the truck or the trailer? I recall the trailer thread where you felt you were not getting a fair settlement.
