If the cops write a no proof of ins ticket, it will be dropped as soon as you show the court your proof dated prior to the "infraction." The court doesn't care about the incedent that lead to the infraction ther for your info is still not part of the claim.
This may vary by State but in MN there are regulations about sharing insurance information and also laws about carrying proof of insurance. Besides that, any tickets written will not disappear from LE records but remain.
