Tow dolly registration
Do tow dollies need to be registered or is that not required since the dingy will be registered?

Technically, here in Montana if you are towing the dolly by itself, it is a trailer and should have a PERMANENT trailer registration and license plate.
If you are towing the dolly with a vehicle on it, it is part of the registered vehicle, and does not need registration or license plate.
I don't think anybody has ever been ticketed for towing an empty dolly with no license plate.
