Not necessarily. With the proper trailer a one ton SRW would be fine. But, if and when you get the bug for a bigger trailer you could find yourself under trucked and needing to trade up to a dually. IMHO duallie's do have some limitations and draw backs, but the extra load carrying capacity far out weighs the negatives. When I first started driving my dually I was a bit intimidated because it was so big. Now I just get in a drive. Our other vehicle is a Suzuki Grand Vitara, so the size difference is quite apparent. But moving between them is no big deal.
