Just because someone thinks they have the skills to drive at excessive speeds doesn't mean that doing so is the right thing to do.
"Sure I do, I've been doing it for a long time. You don't know me or my skills. Just because you are a ***** doesn't mean I have to be".
I know of firearms instructors that have shot themselves in the foot/leg because they grew complacent. I have the video of an "agent" that shot himself in the foot because of complacency and overconfidence, right after he assured everyone in the room that he was "professional enough".
The thing is, you need to be prepared for your worst day, not your best day. The day when the guy in the Prius pulls in front of you and hits his brakes because of the squirrel that ran in front of him. The day that you go to pass another trailer and discover that he was driving slower because of something you didn't see and didn't have time to react to at your speed.
