tow vehicle

I have a new 2014 Chevy. 1/2 ton 4wd. pickup and have towed it on 2 occassions. when i get into vehicle a rubber or brake smell exists.
the truck is put into neutral and rolls freely. no assist brake system is attached.
Where might the smell be coming from.

  • It's the rubber/road smell... We get it alot and not from a chevy, but a stick shift yaris.
  • I've notice that every once in a while, I get that same smell from my toad. Not sure what it could be. I always make sure my supplemental brake system is functioning correctly and I even have it adjusted a little loose.

    Sorry, can't help you.

ps.. You might get a better response in the "Dinghy" forum rather than the "class c". By the way, a "tow vehicle" is one doing the towing, i.e.: your motorhome.

What does Chevy say about towing it?

All Chev 4wd pick-ups are towable 4 down. I tow a Silverado or Sonic all the time and I get the same odor no matter which car I tow.
