There really is no good way to attach safety chains to the frame in most cases. And, most hitch receivers provide a very good, convenient place to attach them, so I think thats what 99.9% of us do.
Now, you definitely want the break-away cable to connect to something other than the receiver (preferably the frame of the MH). Thats a bit easier to do, though.
I'm going to use a cable arrangement to attached the break-away cable to the frame of the motorhome. Certainly easier to accomplish as the break-away cable remains slack. The safety cables, well, that's a different story.
