When the arms are not equal, the jeep will locate off center but still be straight with the coach. That should not cause excessive wear on tires.

Our 07 JK has 97,000 miles on it, we are on our second set of tires, and they are not yet showing much wear. We trailer when we are going long distance, make as wide as we can turns when we are 4 down. Rotate tires every 10k, & keep proper air pressure. We have never had the front end aligned, we always tow with the key in and in the run position, transfer case in neutral transmission in park and the battery disconnected. We have the Falcon II tow bar, and the light harness from Cool-tech.

OBTW our JK has a 6" lift kit, and 34" tires. tow bar is 1" higher at the jeep, than the ball on the coach.

Our 2007 Jeep Sahara Unlimited 4 door has Kelly Safari TSR 33 inch tires. We have towed it over 20,000 miles Falcon all terrain tow bar set up 1 inch from level. Jeep has 3 plus inch lift. Tires look perfectly worn left to right and expect another 15,000 miles out of them.
I do not run tire pressure at recommended pressure. I run at 30 psi. for the larger tire.

I am towing a 2011 Rubicon on same tires, with Falcon 2 towbar. Have towed the Jeep close to 20,000 miles and driven it close to the same. We are on our second set of tires. The first set were not worn out, but they got very noisy and rough riding, most unpleasant. This 2nd set is starting to approach that disagreeable state.

When I replace them, I will look for a slightly less aggressive tread and see how that goes.Tthese tires just look like they would be unpleasant on smooth blacktop from brand new even though they really aren't. They really are great at pulling up nasty steep dirt cliffs :)

I believe you're correct up to 3", but you would never want the towed vehicle higher than the coach.

to answer how it drives, it does really well with the tires when bought new a year ago and with 50 miles on new tires it drifts just a little to the right, not bad, but I live in Oklahoma and wind is always a factor and the roads are bad, so hard to tell for sure. thanks everyone

What is the height from the ground of your tow bar connection to the Jeep, and what is that height at the motor home?

My question too if you have a height difference of (memory??) I think 3 inches you will have problems. Put a white rag on the steering wheel and see, if you can, if the wheel moves back and forth while towing or stays to the left or right when towing.

What is the height from the ground of your tow bar connection to the Jeep, and what is that height at the motor home?

I have not had anything that I can think of in regards to sharp turns and never backing up, I am scheduled to go get the jeep aligned at 1 today and I will let everyone know if that fixes the problem... I had 4 new tires put on yesterday so I am starting with a blank canvas. thanks to everyone for help in this matter.

You are probably making sharp turns with the coach, which can exceed the turn radius of the jeep. make wider corners see if that helps.

This is one reason we use a trailer for our jeep. Our Newmar has a long overhang behind the rear axle, and we can exceed the turn radius in 90 degree turns.

Are you trying to back the unit up? this never works.
