Thank you all for your responses. I went ahead and killed the deal.
The finance person had just secured our loan on the very first bank she contacted and was getting back to me. Boy was she pissed when she learned she did all of the work and stayed late for nothing. I told her it wasn't all the sales dept's fault, because I had sent in the paperwork, BUT...I also told the young sales rep that I had one more authority I needed to contact prior to agreeing to the deal as I was Leery of the weight issue. That "authority" was You All!!
The finance woman asked me about the weight issue and couldnt' believe they had kept telling me it was all okay. She's been there a long time. She said that a 2wd can actually pull more than a 4wd (truth?), but regardless, she says it sounds like they never ran the actual numbers and walked it through with me. It was such a relief to finally have someone from the RV dealership Listen To Me!
So...I am not out of my mind. I have been a good student of RV ownership and listened to the advice given to me by those who have actually "towed the road". Thank you all soooooo much. Yes, I would've LOVED that camper, but the heck it would've caused on our TV and my marriage would've been...just awful.
Night all ;-)
