MKirsch > I hear what you are saying and you make a good point.
I just wanted to go on record as saying...that...I understand what "dry weight" is and I know you add everything on top of that.
Where my issue arose was that the dealership was so insistent that I wasn't reading the numbers correctly and my TV could pull the TT. I couldn't understand their persistence and even told them to walk me through the numbers...in case I WAS missing something.
I knew it was off as soon as I realized that the weight given was "dry weight" and not "GVWR", as shown on my current TT. Then I argued the point with my sales people. Then I asked salespeople at a different RV dealership - only one person (a woman) said I was way over. Then I called my GMC dealership and he set me straight. So I took this back to my RV sales guys and they still insisted that it was fine. Even in a conversation with the Service Dept., I was giving info on weights that the technician didn't know (like withGMC vehicles, the GVWR includes the vehicle AND the driver, but nothing else. AND...YES, part of my issue is that I really did want to purchase it. But I said I needed to speak to one other expert before committing. That last expert was this forum and everyone walked me through how the numbers really added up...which is the same thing I was seeing. Validation! And...I learned some other good tips and insights.
I Love This Forum!!! You all are wonderful ;-)
