Towing a 1500 2014 silerado

Question

I'm towing a 1500, 2014 Silverado, and service bulletin 13-00-89-007 says to disconnect the negative side of the battery.    My mechanic called GM and they told him to disconnect the positive side.  A disconnect is necessary due to electric steering system, is my understanding.  Anyone with same experience or knowledge please respond.

I would say Positive.

Disconnect either positive or negative with the same effect. However, disconnecting the negative connection presents less risk for shorts, if you understand negative vs positive ground systems.
