There was notible towing difference between my 3,200 lb CRV and 5,400 lb GC.

I assume I wouldn't have to worry about the front drive shaft since the truck would already be in 2WD mode.
I did call a local shop that installs the drive shaft. It's in the $2,000 USD range, before adding the towing setup. All of this is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new truck or Jeep.
